Our Community Water System (CWS) violated a drinking water standard. Although this is not an emergency, as our customers, you have a right to know what happened, what you should do, and what we are doing to correct this situation.
We are required to monitor your drinking water for specific contaminants on a regular basis. Results of regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not our drinking water meets health standards. We did not properly complete the required monitoring or testing for DISNFECTION BY-PRODUCTS (TTHMs & HAA5s) during the 07/01/2020 – 09/30/2020 and 10/01/2020 – 12/31/2020 compliance periods and therefore cannot be sure of the quality of our drinking water during that time.

What is Being Done?
Historically, this sample site location meets or exceeds the standards. Due to construction, sample site 19 was removed. Georgia Environmental Protection Division has authorized an alternative sample site.
We have since taken the required samples and the samples showed we are meeting drinking water standards. To address this sampling oversight, a procedural corrective action plan has been implemented. Effective immediately, a new procedure has been added to our standard operating procedures which ensures sampling stations are relocated prior to construction activity. Our goal is to ensure all compliance monitoring is performed to standard and scheduling.
